RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND OUTREACH
In addition to her work on-stage, Charlie-Jade is an experienced and sought after singing teacher and performance coach. She is currently completing an MSc Performance Science at the Royal College of Music where her research areas are in performance psychology and performers health and wellbeing, with a particular focus on the link between mental health and vocal health, and intervention practices for optimising performers health and wellbeing. She holds a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music in Singing Teaching with Distinction, and a Certificate in Performance Coaching accredited by the British Psychological Society. She teaches Undergraduate and Masters students at LAMDA, Mountview and Laine Theatre Arts, as well as students on the BMus Course at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her students also include professional artists including cast members of Evita (Leicester Curve), Hairspray (Royal Caribbean International), and Mamma Mia (Novello Theatre, West End). In addition, she is the founder and director of The Practice by Charlie-Jade, a voice and wellness training space for professional and semi-professional singers.
Charlie-Jade is a ‘Champion’ for the charity Music For Dementia and has performed for outreach and participation projects including the Age UK Valentine’s Gala with Opera Holland Park Inspire, and for a Lunchtime Schools Concert of Bernstein’s West Side Story with RCM Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Joana Carneiro with Royal College of Music Sparks. She has also been a facilitator for projects for Key Club Arts at the Lyric Hammersmith working with 18-30 year olds with autism.
