EVIDENCE-BASED,PERFORMANCE LED SINGING TRAINING

Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music (PGDip, LRAM), Charlie-Jade has enjoyed a diverse career across performance and education. Over the last decade, her focus has evolved into a prominent career in vocal pedagogy and performance science. Today, she is an Associate Professor and the Head of Singing at LAMDA, and previously served on the technical singing faculties at Trinity Laban, Mountview and ArtsEd.

Through her private studio, Charlie-Jade works with professional artists using an approach that considers the whole performer, not just the voice. Singing is never a one size fits all, and rather than adhering to a single methodology, she draws on an understanding of physiology, psychology and a variety of pedagogical approaches to deliver performance led singing training.

Her teaching is deeply evidence-based, underpinned by an MSc in Performance Science (Royal College of Music), a Licentiate in Singing Teaching (Royal Academy of Music), and specialist training in anatomy, physiology and psychological coaching. Having explored the impact of stress on the development of voice disorders and health experiences in drama school training, she is now a PhD Candidate in Performance Science. Dedicated to bridging the gap between raw artistic instinct and clinical evidence, Charlie-Jade brings the intuition of an experienced performer to her work. Beyond the science, she understands that elite singing requires more than technical precision; it requires a deep connection to both music and text.

To stay at the forefront of vocal care, Charlie-Jade regularly collaborates with specialist clinicians and undertakes observations in a leading NHS Voice Clinic. She is an Associate of The Royal Society of Medicine, a member of the British Voice Association and of the Healthy Conservatoires Network. Whether in the conservatoire or the private studio, she is dedicated to empowering performers with the tools for a sustainable and authentic career.
